wizard of oz. can oz shine at the box office like other remakes before it? let's bring in dennis kneale. we are looking at some other ones that have done well. dennis: cause the great and powerful premiere, hollywood hoping to be great and powerful for raise sagging box office, ticket sales down 15% this year, already the first two hundred million dollar flop in the jack and the giant slayer. hopes are high for this prequel to the 75-year-old film that could do $85 million in the u.s. even more overseas where it opened last night, 27 markets and another 19 cities today. this is technically a prequel, not a remake but let's look at the most successful remakes of all time. look at this. they all came out in 2005-2006. casino royale, war of the world that 590, king kong from the guy who did the lord of the rings trilogy, peter jackson, $550 million. we will see whether this will do well. overall, past week, disney stock up 50% and no one knows better how to turn a good blockbuster movie into billions of dollars and other revenue in the next few years, already at work on the avengers. liz:

that happened, a bmw that was driven by 28-year-old dennis masado according to police slammed into the honda and the force was so great that one of the passengers aboard was ejected. one person heard the crash and came to help. >> initially in the car i saw three people in it. they seemed unconscious. so, you know, there was one late did i on the floor near the platform there laying there. so i tended to her first. she didn't respond right away. once i returned to the car, the girl that survived responded. second time i went to her to wake her up, she responded by moaning and i kind of really -- [ pause ] >> reporter: he did what he could. the coroner's office confirming the identity of the three people killed. they were all in the same family. a 20-year-old his little 14-year- old brother and their mother, 50 years old. all three killed in this crash. one 14-year-old girl sitting in the back seat survived the accident, is in critical condition at the hospital. police say this accident is compounded by somebody driving fast trying to avoid the law and t

could move to cable as early as next year. dennis kneale covering this story and joins us now. dennis. >> hello, ashley. kind of a good news, bad news thing for cbs because they're raking in some really good ratings so far in the first week of march madness, the college basketball tournament. cb. is putting out a press release moments ago saying this is some of the highest ratings that the basketball product has brought in over 20 years. just one problem, variety, the trade paper, reports that under cbs's contract with time warner's turner networks the games, the final four in march madness move to cable a at some point. sources telling variety and other publications that could happen as early as 2014. that is next season. that's a blow for cbs as the big broadcasters, the big four have steadily lost audience to the cable dial, the one thing they still control is really, big, exclusive live events you can't see anywhere else. more of those events are defecting over to cable. let's remember in 2011 for the first time the college football championship game ended up going to espn from th

. it all started when denny hamlin got into a hard single car crash at inside wall. watch it. on the final lap of sunday's autoclub 400 and airlifted to a local hospital. after an overnight stay doctors say he'll be okay. the guy he was neck-and-neck with before the crash, joey logano then had his own drama unfold before fan's eyes. joey logano and denny hamlin who had traited barbs battled side-by-side, bumping and passing in the laps, that's when denny hamlin crashed. another driver, tony stewart jumps n he's furious about the crash, he runs over to confront joey logano. the two start fighting before crews separated them. joey logano phagd a cheap shot, though he throws a water bottle at stewart, you can hear the crowd cheering or pwaoeupbg, i'm not sure what, they are pretty excited to watch all of thupb fold in one day. stewart described the action of a little girl he quoted, added that it's time he learned a lesson, he's talking about joey logano here. he runs his mouth long enough. he's nothing but a little rich kid who never had to work a day in his life. joey logano said he was rac

at a 3 1/2 year low against the dollar. we were talking to dennis gartman earlier who pointed out in gold terms -- in yen terms, actually, gold is at a nominal high. well put on twitter practically everything is at a nominal high because of the weakness we've seen. the positive move is carrying over into the u.s. session and into the futures. the ftse 100 is rallying up almost 10% this year. we're up 0.3% building on that rally. the cac 40 in paris is up 0.9%. the strongest performers, frankly, have been utley and spain up is%. italy and spanish debt continues to rally. fascinating because of what we've seen in italy where there's still no sense of a government forming, where there's still questions about a new election being called in a kump months' time, maintaining that spread that we saw over there. we're going on 2 1/2 year lows for the yield on spanish debts. despite the macro concerns there, not much of a response. i mentioned the dollar/yen, 3 1/2 lows for the yen against the u.s. dollar. 95.6 in trade this morning. elsewhere, the euro is firmer, back above the 1.231 level. staple
